As a New College Student, there are five types of orientation you can participate in:

Traditional Orientation (Early Bird)

Traditional Orientation will run from August 31st to September 4th, 2026. It will be a week full of excitement and fun events to ease your transition into New College and the University of Toronto. From social to academic connections, we've got you covered.  

What is included:

  • Access to all New College Orientation activities 

  • Catering throughout the week

  • Welcome Kit consisting of orientation merch, small gifts from campus partners and sponsors  

Traditional Orientation Ticket Prices (all dates in EST):

  • Early Bird (Starting June 9th): $110 - Limited to the first 100 tickets

  • Up to July 31st: $135

  • August 1st - August 15th: $145

  • On and After August 16th: $155

For those in need of financial assistance to purchase orientation tickets, please reach out to new.studentlife@utoronto.ca.  If you wish to attend both the Traditional Orientation and the International Orientation, please purchase your tickets together in one transaction. You must register for the Traditional Orientation in order to attend the International Orientation.

International Orientation

International Orientation is a series of events during the Traditional Orientation designed to address the unique needs and concerns of incoming New College international students, including International Foundations Program students. By attending International Orientation, students will have the opportunity to meet other international students, connect with important campus resources, and learn practical skills to get a head start as they embark on their exciting new chapter of their lives at New College and the University of Toronto. You must attend Traditional Orientation in order to attend International Orientation. You will not be able to participate in  International Orientation alone.

Commuter Orientation

The Office of Residence and Student Life at New College is thrilled to welcome incoming students in-person to our Commuter Orientation program on Wednesday, July 15, 2026.

Wondering if this program is for you? Our full-day Orientation will include:

  • Tips and Tricks for all things commuting

  • A panel of upper year commuter students where you can ask all of your burning questions about U of T, New College, and life as a commuter student

  • Opportunities to meet and connect with other incoming first years

  • And much more!

Check-in will open at 9:30am, with programming running from 10am to 4pm at New College. We will provide participants with more information, including a full itinerary, in early July.

Lunch will be provided. As such, registration is required for all participants. Please register by July 8th at 11:59pm EST.
