Orientation Tickets

As a New College Student, there are four types of orientation you can participate in:

Traditional Orientation (Early Bird)

Traditional Orientation will run from August 31st to September 4th, 2026. It will be a week full of excitement and fun events to ease your transition into New College and the University of Toronto. From social to academic connections, we've got you covered.  

What is included:

  • Access to all New College Orientation activities 

  • 10-12 light meals and snacks

  • Welcome Kit consisting of orientation merch, small gifts from campus partners and sponsors  

Traditional Orientation Ticket Prices (all dates in EST):

  • Early Bird (capped at 60 tickets): $110 

  • Before August 15th: $130 

  • On and after August 15th: $140 

For those in need of financial assistance to purchase orientation tickets, please reach out to new.studentlife@utoronto.ca.  If you wish to attend both the Traditional Orientation and the International Orientation, please purchase your tickets together in one transaction. You must register for the Traditional Orientation in order to attend the International Orientation.

International Orientation

International Orientation is a series of events during the Traditional Orientation designed to address the unique needs and concerns of incoming International Foundations Program and New College international students. By attending the International Orientation, students will have the opportunity to get a head start as they embark on their exciting new chapter of their lives at New College and the University of Toronto.

You must attend Traditional Orientation in order to attend International Orientation. You will not be able to participate in the International Orientation alone.

IGNITE Academic Orientation

Are you a little bit nervous about what it’s like being a student at UofT? IGNITE Academic Orientation is the program for you! IGNITE is a FREE program focused on academic preparation and transition specifically for incoming New College students.

You are not required to buy a traditional Orientation ticket to attend this program, although you can attend both programs if you'd like.

When: Friday, August 29 | Time: 9:30AM-3:30PM
Where: New College William Doo Auditorium (45 Willcocks St.)

Main topics that will be covered include:

  • How to prepare for and make the most of lectures and assignments

  • What New College services can do to support your academics

  • What will be expected of you in different courses/disciplines and how to manage your time

  • Key dates/times during the term

Registration is capped at 150 students. If you are no longer able to attend IGNITE Academic Orientation, please cancel your booking through Folio before Monday, August 25 at 12PM EST. This will open up your spot and allow people on the waitlist to attend. If you do not cancel your booking by Monday, August 25 or do not show up to the program without notifying new.studentlife@utoronto.ca in advance,you will be charged $50 to account for the cost of food and supplies. This charge may appear on ACORN.
